Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Zhou Shaoqing, an individual operator based in mainland China ("we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use Gear Ratio Tools at https://gearratiotools.com (the "Site").

Zhou Shaoqing is the Hanyu Pinyin romanization used in this English-language policy to identify the operator. It is not presented as an official English legal name or a separate legal alias.

1. Calculator Data

The calculator runs in your browser. The numerical values, settings, and results you use in the calculator are not intentionally sent to us or stored in an account or application database. The Site does not offer accounts, uploads, cloud history, or server-side saving at launch.

Do not enter personal information, a vehicle identification number (VIN), a license plate, or other identifying information into the calculator fields. The approved launch version does not create or restore calculator state through a URL.

2. Information You Send to Us

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. Please do not send sensitive personal information or confidential vehicle records.

We use contact information to respond to requests, investigate calculation or content corrections, address privacy, legal, or intellectual-property issues, prevent abuse, and maintain records when reasonably necessary. We do not use contact messages for marketing at launch.

Messages sent to support@gearratiotools.com are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to an operator-controlled Gmail inbox provided by Google. Authenticated outbound sending from support@gearratiotools.com is not configured at launch. If a response is appropriate, it may be sent from the destination mailbox, so the sender address may differ from the address you contacted.

We ordinarily delete support and correction correspondence within 30 days after the matter is closed or the last reply, whichever is later. We may retain records that are reasonably necessary for privacy, legal, intellectual-property, or security matters for up to 12 months after the matter is closed. Messages identified as spam are deleted within 7 days. We may retain limited information longer when required by law or reasonably necessary for an unresolved dispute, legal process, fraud investigation, or security incident, and delete it when that need ends.

Cloudflare and Google may process and retain email data under their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, legal obligations, and backup-deletion cycles. 3. Hosting and Technical Data

The Site uses services provided by Cloudflare, Inc. for domain operation, delivery, and security. Cloudflare may process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, such as an IP address, browser or device information, traffic-routing data, requested path or URL, request time, and security or error information.

Cloudflare retains personal information for the periods and purposes described in its privacy policy, including providing and securing its services, meeting legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Cloudflare does not provide us with one universal project-specific retention period for all underlying delivery and security processing. We use or permit this processing only to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Site, comply with law, and prevent abuse. We do not use technical request information to build advertising profiles at launch.

The calculator does not intentionally send its numerical inputs or results to Cloudflare and does not encode calculator state in URLs. Cloudflare still receives ordinary request information needed to serve the pages.

4. Analytics, Advertising, and Cookies

At launch, the Site does not use analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, heatmaps, behavioral profiling, or non-essential cookies. The calculator does not require cookies or local storage for its approved launch behavior.

If we later introduce analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking, cookies, local storage, or similar technologies, we will assess the change before activation and update this Privacy Policy and any required choices or notices.

5. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose information:

  • to service providers that support Site hosting, security, or email, subject to their applicable terms;
  • when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests;
  • to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of the Site, our users, or others;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the Site, subject to applicable notice requirements; or
  • with your direction or consent.

We do not sell calculator inputs or results. We do not use calculator inputs or results for targeted advertising at launch.

6. Data Retention and Security

Calculator inputs and results are not retained in an account or application database. Information sent by email and technical logs are retained only as described above and as reasonably necessary for their stated purposes.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to this limited Site. No Internet transmission, email, browser or storage method is completely secure.

7. Your Privacy Choices and Requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, such as requesting access, correction, deletion, or information about our handling of it. These rights may be subject to exceptions and verification requirements.

To make a privacy request, email support@gearratiotools.com. Describe the request and the information involved. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify and process the request. Because calculator values are not tied to an account or stored in an application database, we may have no calculator record to identify or delete.

At launch, the Site does not respond to advertising opt-out signals because it does not conduct targeted advertising or sell/share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If those practices change, we will reassess applicable signal handling before launch of the change.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is a general-audience automotive calculation tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts, forms, or the calculator. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us by email, contact support@gearratiotools.com so we can review the request.

9. International Access

The Site is an English-language calculator that may be accessible from multiple countries. Accessibility does not mean that the Site is localized for, actively offered in, or represented as compliant with every jurisdiction. Information handled by Cloudflare and our email provider may be processed in countries where those providers operate. Their privacy notices describe their processing locations and safeguards.

Your mandatory privacy rights, if any, are not excluded by this statement. If we later actively target users in a jurisdiction that creates additional privacy obligations, we will assess those obligations before that change goes live.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Site or its information practices change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may require an additional notice or choice where applicable.
